Event Description

RKRL Kick-Off Month Continues May 23rd w/
Songs for Snakes
Nielsen Raiding (Santa Cruz)
GrimeCity (SF)

... Songs for Snakes have reconfigured their sound and line-up, Nielsen Raiding are raising the flag for the emergent Santa Cruz punk scene, and even at their young age, Grimecity is steady building tunnels into underground SF music scene.

Songs For Snakes was formed in 2005 with a vision of creating slightly melancholy indie/punk rock in the vein of Jawbreaker/Husker Du. Founding Singer/guitarist Bill Taylor formerly of Peppercorn, Shoehouse and bassist Nick Waters played in Bang Bang before joining SFS. This will be the record release party for their album entitled “Charcoal Heather".

Also playing, Nielsen Raiding, a young crew from Santa Cruz. Aware of their musical roots, “S.C. also has a lineage of punk rock and the three of us are glad to put it back on the map. It ain't easy being a three piece in a world of music that is processed and overdone so we bring what is real back to a punk rock trio. Oh, and we will bring it”

GrimeCity, fronted by Bianca Gonzalez, is part of the local skate, rude blog, and punk scenes you can find out more at www.reverbnation.com/
