Please join us at 111 Minna Gallery in San Francisco for the kick off of our Young Professionals Amnesty International Group in San Francisco. The event is also co-sponsored by the World Affairs Council Young Professionals. DJ Chris Harnett www.chrisharnett.com and hip hop artists the Psychokinetics www.psychokinetics.com will provide us with an incredible show. This event is FREE so spread the word since everyone is welcome who is over 21 years of age. No cover but cash bar.

At the event we will sign people up to join our Young Professionals group, sign letters to free political prisoners, provide information about Amnesty International’s campaigns/issues, inform people about our Western Regional Conference Nov 5-7, 2010 and 50th Anniversary Conference March 18-20, 2011 both in San Francisco. You will also get to meet Amnesty International local staff, Amnesty volunteers and activists.

GET INVOLVED: Happy hours, wine tastings, lobbying, networking, panel discussions, email and facebook advocacy, two great activist conferences in San Francisco and MUCH, MUCH, MORE!!

What is YPAI?
Young Professionals Amnesty International (YPAI) engages and supports Amnesty activists from diverse backgrounds entering and currently in the working world. These dynamic young professionals group provides Amnesty and other human rights activists a space to network, organize and contribute to the struggle for human rights in the US and abroad.

YPAI provides a unique networking opportunity for emerging, existing human rights leaders and people who just want to learn more about human rights issues to take part in fun social activities like Human Rights Happy Hours, Amnesty BBQ’s , Human Rights Dinner Parties, movie screenings, trivia night and the list goes on.

YPAI is structured around a monthly event that combines social and action oriented activities focused on addressing human rights issues. YPAI is designed to provide young professionals the opportunity to exchange ideas, grow professionally and proactively address the state of human rights worldwide.
YPAI is also connected to and will partner with Amnesty USA, regional staff and other Amnesty Local Groups on events, concerts, lobbying and other campaign actions.
