Event Description

La Gente Productionz presents: Santos Perdidos & Dj Lady Ryan live @ Shine Lounge Grand Opening+ Special guest MC Orukusaki!

The Shine Lounge 1337 Mission St. SF

Santos Perdidos is an acoustic latin band based in the heart of the Mission, playing an eclectic mix of Son Cubano, Rumba Española, Bolero, and Afro-Peruvian Lando. They are also MAPP (Mission Arts Performance Project) and Red Poppy Art House favorites. With its strong vocal harmonies and rich sound, the band’s constantly expanding repertoire includes traditional music from Cuba, Peru, Colombia, Mexico & Spain, as well as original compositions

They will be trading sets with the one and only DJ Lady Ryan

She was the opening act for the Dyke March SF Pride 2007, and has sung each year at SF Pride, and at Oakland Pride as it has had its rebirth. She held a summer residency at Somar in Oakland 2010 backed by musicians paying tribute to artists that have influenced her.

As a DJ and vocalist, her love and dedication for music has taken her far as she is quickly becoming a bay area favorite. She has played for La Gente, Pete Escovedo, Killah Priest of the Wu Tang Clan,
and was the sole Dj for Tracy Chapman's birthday 2010. She has rocked the house of many clubs in the Bay Area including, The New Parish, Shattuck DownLow, Jupiter, La Pena, the Layover, Somar, Paradiso, Era Art Bar, and the Oasis in Oakland and Berkeley. As well as Ruby Skye, Trigger, the LookOut, CatClub, Club8, the Lexington, and SF Underground in SanFrancisco to name a few.

Her uplifting multi-genre soundscape will leave you with a smile in your heart!

Born in Berkeley California, Bay Area native OrukusaKi raps conscious lyrics over abstract and original style hip-hop beats. Known as one of the "Champion" battle rappers on the west coast and freestyle virtuoso.

This double bill will be at the grand opening of San Francisco's newest lounge, live music, dj venue.

The Shine Lounge! only $10 cover 8pm-2am

Prentice Grant: From Vauxhall to Legacy — The Rise of an Independent Hip-Hop Force

The first time Prentice Grant realized music could change his life, he was just a kid in Vauxhall, New Jersey, staring at the TV.
