Public Works - Oddjob Loft

One of the Mission District's richest cultural traditions crosses paths with its most forward-thinking dance hall for a bone-rattling remezcla - in the forms of moombahton, digital cumbia and tropical bass - that will get even the stiffest skeletons shaking as Public Works hosts the VIVA LA VIDA - Dia de los Muertos procession afterparty.

Viva La Vida features Mexico-to-Oakland transplant TURBO SONIDERO FUTURISTICO, whose patented brand of “tumbia” (turbo + cumbia) spices up the traditionally slow-chugging cumbia sound with a healthy hit of street swagger for your culo. He'll be joined onstage by perhaps the best-named hypeman in the game, MC MexTape.

Bad Shoes Recordings boss, BAAN, fresh off having a label track signed to the new season of Jersey Shore, does his best to keep Snooki out of the club by keeping his sound six-feet-underground alongside Bostonian labelmate FUZZY FOTCH. SF's global cratedigger, MATT HAZE (Beats for Lunch, Kiddo Disco), squeezes limes, beats and rhymes through the speaker stacks to make you arch your back.

The Oddjob Loft will be fitted for the occasion with an altar at the DJ booth AND there will be FREE churros, tacos, chips and salsa while supplies last.

$3 El Diablo tequila cocktails and $2 Fireball shots will be
on special at the bar.

FREE before 11pm
$5 after

Sparoh’s “Panama” Delivers a Powerful Message of Confidence and Creative Freedom

Sparoh is an Atlanta-based artist creating music at the crossroads of melodic trap, alternative pop, and punk-fueled rebellion. Equal parts vulnerable and unapologetic, her work explores identity, liberation, and the complexities of Black womanhood.Raised in the DMV on a foundation of jazz, funk, and blues, Sparoh was drawn early to artists who challenged convention and redefined what was possible. Influenced by trailblazers like Joyce Kennedy,…See More
