DUB MISSION is very proud to present the S.F debut of Lodz, Poland’s DREADSQUAD. In production since 2001, Dreadsquad has worked with a stellar lineup of European and Jamaican reggae artists, including Ward 21, Tenor Fly, Top Cat, General Levy, U Brown, Million Stylez, Lady Chann, Tippa Irie, Jah Mason, Perfect, and Dr Ring Ding. Having four mixtapes, two full-length albums and many vinyl singles to its name, Dreadsquad instrumentals have been used by artists such as Marika, East West Rockers, Ras Luta, Junior Stress, Kacezet, Natural Dread Killaz, O.S.T.R., Pablopavo, Reggaenerator, Tede, Numer Raz, Grubson and many more. Its mashups can also be found in the record cases of such pioneers of the genre as J Star, Upstate Rockers, Mr. Blend or even Daddy G of Massive Attack.  Dreadsquad’s songs and gigs are the fusion of reggae, dancehall, ska, rocksteady and hip-hop. Freely mixing genres, it often combines Jamaican music with modern sounds of breakbeat, jungle, dubstep and garage. For this DUB MISSION date, DREADSQUAD will be spinning some of its own productions as well as remixes from producers from all over the world: a compilation of old school and new school, ragamuffin, digital, dub, reggae and modern bass music in every form

Prentice Grant: From Vauxhall to Legacy — The Rise of an Independent Hip-Hop Force

The first time Prentice Grant realized music could change his life, he was just a kid in Vauxhall, New Jersey, staring at the TV. Two kids not much older than him were on the screen — backwards clothes, fearless energy, commanding the world. It was Kris Kross performing “Jump.”And in that moment, something clicked. It wasn’t just the beat.It wasn’t just the crowd. It was the power. From that day forward, Prentice didn’t just listen to hip-hop — he became it.He sharpened his pen studying legends.…See More
