Event Description

DJ HOUSE SHOES
"LET IT GO"
ALBUM RELEASE PARTY

Oakland, Bay Area and all area crew...it's time to stand up, get up and throw your damn hands up. Saturday, June 16th it's time to "LET IT GO" -- the official Bay Area release party for DJ House Shoe's new album, "LET IT GO." The album will hit stores, Tuesday June 19th. Now come get a taste of what Detroit's finest has to offer.

<>The “ambassador of all things Detroit hip-hop,” as the press text aptly describes House Shoes, will be dropping his long overdue debut LP, Let It Go, on June 19. For the Behind Closed Doors Vol. 3 DVD, the Detroit native takes us into his den and shows us some of his production-steez. You can also catch the man talk about learning his MPC 3000 game from J Dilla back in ’96, fleeing from an unappreciative hometown, and doin’ it strictly for the love. House Shoes’ current The Time EP is available now via iTunes. (via okayplayer.com)<>

<>Tres Records is proud to announce that we are going to release House Shoes’ highly anticipated debut album, “Let It Go” (CD/Vinyl/Digital) on June 19th, 2012. Playing an important role in the scene since the early 90’s, House Shoes is now widely acknowledged as Detroit’s ambassador for Hip-Hop. House Shoes produced all of the tracks on the album, except for the last two, which are live reproductions of his works. The album features OH NO, Alchemist, Roc Marciano, Moe Dirdee, Shafiq Husayn, Big Tone, Black Milk, Guilty Simpson, Nottz, MED, Co$$, Danny Brown, Chali 2na, FattFather, MarvWon, Black Spade, Quelle, Jimetta Rose, J1, SelfSays, Fat Albert Einstein, and Sam Beaubien of Will Sessions. The emcee’s featured on the album are all hand picked in the traditional sense of the producer, making sure the right beat went to the artist who suited it best. <>

The line up speaks for itself. DJ House Shoes, Platurn, Mr. E, Teeko and Max Kane ready to push the musical boundaries beyond forward. From that fresh and innovative Detroit sound to Bay Area soul -- we're taking y'all to that next-next level. Future classics in the making. Believe.

Oakland, San Fran...we're gonna' need y'all to get with THIS!

Prentice Grant: From Vauxhall to Legacy — The Rise of an Independent Hip-Hop Force

The first time Prentice Grant realized music could change his life, he was just a kid in Vauxhall, New Jersey, staring at the TV. Two kids not much older than him were on the screen — backwards clothes, fearless energy, commanding the world. It was Kris Kross performing “Jump.”And in that moment, something clicked. It wasn’t just the beat.It wasn’t just the crowd. It was the power. From that day forward, Prentice didn’t just listen to hip-hop — he became it.He sharpened his pen studying legends.…See More
