Event Description

CELEBRATING 10 years of Nesto's musical goodness behind the decks with his final retirement closing dj set only at September BLESSED, only at SOMAR, and only with YOU ALL!!

ROCKIN' us into the midnight hour is our brotha JAYVI VELASCO, "the DJ's DJ" -

Jayvi Velasco began mixing records in the early 1990s with 2 turntables, a mixer & 2 crates of mostly house records. Since then he has played at literally hundreds of events from California to Manila ranging from clubs, undergrounds, massive raves, boat parties, house parties, loft parties, and renegade beach parties. His smooth and seamless style of deep, sexy, jazzy, soulful, funky, Afro-Latin-tinged vocal House music has lead him to share billing with some of the global house heavyweights including: Timmy Regisford, Vikter Duplaix, Osunlade, Simbad, Ron Carroll, Mark Farina, Gene Farris, Master Kev, Mr.V, Alix Alvarez, Carlos Mena, David Harness, Halo, Patrick Wilson, Miguel Migs, Jay-J, Julius Papp, Ruben Mancias, Simon, Jeno, Garth, Tony, DJ Dan, and Soulstice. Underground househeads are craving the resurgence of the recently quieted but still reverberating "AfterAfterHours", the longest running soulful House afterhours party in San Francisco that Jayvi founded as both co-host and resident dj.

ROCKIN' us into the early mornin' is NESTO FUENTEZ -

Reared among the sounds of classic funk, soul, and latin jazz, Nesto was also heavily influenced and deeply inspired by the thriving San Francisco underground of the late 90’s. Nesto has since sculpted a sound that’s both unique and versatile, a sound that’s been rockin the dance floors since 2002. He’s been blessed with opportunities to collaborate with key players in both the clubs and the underground scene with local heroes like Rick Preston, M3, and Leonard AND with living legends like Doc Martin, Evil Eddie Richards, Terry Francis, Pete Moss, Nathan Coles, Mark Bell, Halo, Tony Rodriquez aka BROTERS VIBE, Tony Hewitt, and Steve Loria, and important, creative promoters like Sunday Mass, m.deep music, CJ Larsen, and TropicalSF. Nesto has helped piece together some of the most epic parties with Tribal Souls, Tocadisco, Monday Night Grooves and Sulco. His ECLECTIC sound is warm, dirty, tech, yet never betrays it’s underlying Afro-Latin Soul.

ROCKIN' and rounding out the evening with a soulful variety of the Deep, the Uplifting, the Classic and the Fresh are your BLESSED residents - RA FA 'EL and DISCAYA.

Prentice Grant: From Vauxhall to Legacy — The Rise of an Independent Hip-Hop Force

The first time Prentice Grant realized music could change his life, he was just a kid in Vauxhall, New Jersey, staring at the TV. Two kids not much older than him were on the screen — backwards clothes, fearless energy, commanding the world. It was Kris Kross performing “Jump.”And in that moment, something clicked. It wasn’t just the beat.It wasn’t just the crowd. It was the power. From that day forward, Prentice didn’t just listen to hip-hop — he became it.He sharpened his pen studying legends.…See More
