ALEXANDER SPIT

Having cut his teeth in ciphers in and around the San Francisco Bay Area, Spit relocated to Los Angeles 2 years ago to hone his craft, and over the course of the subsequent 2 mix-tapes and an instrumental masterpiece (this summer’s Mansions), he’s now offering a distillation of his craft with his new album, A Breathtaking Trip To That Otherside, completely self-produced and awash in head-spinning, hallucinatory subject matter and aural stimulants. With a carefully groomed track list featuring only a few choice MCs and members of his immediate clique, the LP is a focused effort, a fully realized, vibrant vision that immerses the listener in the alternately sun soaked and nocturnal lifestyle of a casual drug user and a very serious musician.

Some random black guy.

DJ ANT-1
http://djant1.tumblr.com/

ANT-1 spins a very classic and sound turntablist style. He’s very technical and he also posses a very unique DJ flavor. He has first class DJ Party Rock ability, but he is also recognized for breaking a lot of new music, whether hip-hop or electronic to even indie. ANT-1 carries a very wide and eclectic taste in music, being known to mix for a wide variety of crowds, US and International. He has toured many different US cities along with a few international destinations and has opened for a number of prominent acts. He is more known for playing edgier, ganster, bass heavy, current rap and hip hop with a seasoned dj feel.

AL LOVER
https://soundcloud.com/al-lover
www.facebook.com/pages/Al-Lover/136850922995107

In short, Al Lover is a producer from San Francisco, but there's more layers to his wall of sound then meets the ear. Over the last few years he has gained much notoriety for his melding of contemporary and past garage and psychedelic rock into harsh yet spacey abrasive beats. Equal Parts 13th Floor Elevators and DJ Shadow, Al Combines crunchy drums, shaky percussion, chopped samples and layers of textured effects to create an unexplored path for psychedelic music. The antithesis to the highly compressed and synth heavy trend in current beat culture, Al Lover offers an earthy and loose approach that sounds more like you're listening to a DMT fueled psych band than a beat made on an MPC.

Taking drugs to make beats to take drugs to.....

Prentice Grant: From Vauxhall to Legacy — The Rise of an Independent Hip-Hop Force

The first time Prentice Grant realized music could change his life, he was just a kid in Vauxhall, New Jersey, staring at the TV. Two kids not much older than him were on the screen — backwards clothes, fearless energy, commanding the world. It was Kris Kross performing “Jump.”And in that moment, something clicked. It wasn’t just the beat.It wasn’t just the crowd. It was the power. From that day forward, Prentice didn’t just listen to hip-hop — he became it.He sharpened his pen studying legends.…See More
