Dua Lipa has said protests in Albania against a Trump family-backed luxury development project on a nature reserve are “inspiring”.

Demonstrations against the 1,400-acre development on the abandoned island of Sazan, which was purchased by the US president’s daughter Ivanka and his son-in-law Jared Kushner, have been ongoing for more than six weeks.

The singer, who has Kosovan-Albanian parents, has now voiced her support for the tens of thousands who have marched in the capital of Tirana against the construction in the country’s south, in what has been dubbed Albania’s “Flamingo Revolution”.
