The nominations for the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards are here, with Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, and Sabrina Carpenter among this year’s most-nominated artists.
Gaga led all contenders with an impressive 12 nominations, thanks largely to her collaboration with Bruno Mars, “Die With a Smile,” which is up for Video and Song of the Year, as well as Best Collaboration. Gaga is also nominated for Artist of the Year, while her latest LP, Mayhem, is up for Album of the Year. Meanwhile, the eye-popping visual for Gaga’s Mayhem single “Abracadabra” racked up a slew of creative and technical award nominations, including Best Directing, Cinematography, and Choreography.
Meanwhile, Lamar notched 10 nominations, most of them for his smash, Grammy-winning Drake diss “Not Like Us,” though he’s also up for Artist of the Year and Best Collaboration for “Luther,” featuring SZA. And Carpenter, who won her first VMA last year for “Espresso,” earned eight nominations, including Video of the Year for her recent single “Manchild.”
