Sabrina Tsang, AKA Similak Chyld, uses time-honored DJ Skills to fuse hip hop, soul, reggae, dancehall, breaks, Latin, drum & bass and house music. Similak's first break came while producing and hosting her own hip hop show alongside Bay Area Hip Hop pioneer Kevvy Kev. During that time, she hosted a syndicated urban television show called Back Stage Pass. She also worked with Toni Tony Tone's Dwayne Wiggins on the production of the of the Too Short Documentary "Life Is" and Fly Media Group's Renee Moncada McElroy on the Music Show Funk U TV. Similak grew up taking piano lessons but eventually began studying and performing the alto saxophone in high school, touring extensively with her jazz ensemble throughout Asia. After making her rounds on the Bay Area circuit honing her skills as a DJ, she hooked up with the crew at Future Primitive Sound and FTC Skate. She has played regularly at the Future Primitive Sound Sessions, FTC Skate Video Releases & Art shows and also and has weekly residencies at the Beat Lounge (1751 Social Club) and Butterfly. Throughout her DJ career, Similak has played with many renowned DJs and acts such as: Little Louie Vega, David Harness, Goldie, Disco D, UFO!, ZTrip, the Triple Threat DJs, Rob Swift, Lyrics Born, Joyo Velarde, P.E.A.C.E (Freestyle Fellowship), Faust and Shortee, JBoogie, Oakland Faders (Scion Mixtape Winners), Four One Funk DJs, Jedi (Digable Planets), RedWine DJs, Romanowski, Doze Green and the Barnstormers and more.
