Super Soul Sista #1 and already dubbed “the Angela Davis of Hip-Hop,” because of her profound lyrics, trademark 'fro, and Afro-centric essence, MEDUSA continues to cultivate hip-hop seeds across the country in unprecedented numbers. MEDUSA’s diversity goes unchallenged. She has been compared to a medley of amazing artists including Gil-Scott Heron, Chuck D, Lauryn Hill, Jay-Z, Me’shell NdegeOcello and Erykah Badu. MEDUSA rocks the stage in the tradition of Sly & the Family Stone and is taking the hip-hop community by storm. Following the release of her EP "Do It The Way You Feel It," MEDUSA gained a strong fan base overseas and on college campuses across the nation and has virtually become a guru to the underground hip-hop scene. Having emanated from Leimert Park's “Project Blowed” workshop, MEDUSA stays lyrically fit by co-operating a hip-hop, jazz, rare grooves and reggae club (Fais Do Do’s) entitled “Nappy @ Da Roots,” where she performs once a month (2nd Friday) and opens the stage to free-style mic battles and other performers, musicians and poets. MEDUSA has shared the stage with the likes of KRS-ONE, George Clinton, Dead Prez, Public Enemy, Blackalicious, Erykah Badu, Roy Ayers, Dilated Peoples, Speech, Common, Pharoah Monche, Me’shell N’degeOcello, Fishbone, MC Lyte, Bahamadia and Blk Thought of the Roots. She has earned herself a Gold album in Japan with Spiritual People, a project in collaboration with Arrested Development’s Speech. She has also received a Grammy with band Ozomatli. The LA Weekly has voted MEDUSA Best Hip-Hop Artist for two years in a row. MEDUSA recently completed the Beats 4 Peace tour with Slum Village, Pharoahe Monch, Anwar Superstar, The Jazz & Hip-Hop Orchestra, Supernatural and others. MEDUSA’S skills are not limited to music. She has displayed her “behind the scenes” talents in acting, film scoring and soundtrack production. Such credits include “Life Is A Traffic Jam,” featuring the late Tupac Shakur in the Vondi Curtis Hall film “Gridlock’d” and sitcom “Moesha” where Medusa made an impact on the world as Lady Lunatic. She wrote, performed and produced “My Momma Raised A G” for the HBO film "Stranger Inside,” in which MEDUSA also appeared, playing the role of Leisha. MEDUSA recently released the video to “My Momma Raised A G.” MUSIC SAMPLES MEDUSA PUSHIN' THROUGH MAKE YA' NECK LOCK BY THE MAGNITUDES MY MOMMA RAISED A G MYSPACE: http://www.myspace.com/medusa
