Joe quixx has truly been representing the bay area hip hop scene since 1992, although his deejay career goes farther beyond that. He began by launching his career as the premiere DJ and producer for Sway and King Tech's "World Famous Wake Up Show" along with holding down numerous top ranked mix show slots on San Francisco's #1 hip hop radio station 106 KMEL as well as it's sister station in Los Angeles, KKBT 92.3 The Beat. To top it off, The Wake Up Show was rated #1 for it's time slot in both San Francisco and L.A., earning the title of "Best Hip Hop Radio Show". Not a bad way to kick things off. Since then the man behind numerous underground Hip Hop classics and one of the most renowned record collectors/beat diggers on the West Coast has maintained a humble posture while steadily concocting in the studio, wrecking clubs all up and down Cali and keeping his keen ear to the street for the eternal boom-bap of that real hip hop sound. And if you were lucky, you might have also caught him on stage with some fairly well known cats like Nas, Biggie, Cypress Hill, KRS-1, M.F. Doom, the GZA, the Gravediggaz and so on and so on and so on.... Joining the Oakland Faders in 2005 seemed like the next logical step for this East Bay veteran. With a heavy duty list of projects on the way and a demanding gig schedule that simply won't quit, the original "Latin Soul Brother" has and will continue to maintain a reputation that stands strong and garners a type of respect that will continue for many more years to come.
