Wisdom started messin around on the turntables at Paul Nice’s house in Poughkeepsie, NY. The love for the music was always there but this is where the passion for the music began. He started practicing turntable techniques and began doing a radio show at Vassar College on WVKR 91.3FM with DJs Animation and Shock. In 1992, he decided to move to San Francisco where his deejay career went into full swing. His first gig was “Dig” at a small club called, “Don’s Different Ducks”, or known to the old school as 3Ds. The music was a mixture of hip hop and soul which he and Toph One mixed it up. In 1993, Wisdom, J-Boogie and Raw B, joined forces to produce an all-live underground hip-hop mix show. Together they brought Beatsauce to the Bay Area on KUSF 90.3FM every Sunday from 6pm-9pm. The show has earned a lot of respect from the listerners as well as many well-known hip hop artists. The guests who have stopped by to pay tribute read like a hip hop all-star roster, including KRS-One, Mobb Deep, Group Home, Jay-Z, Company Flow, Tracy Lee, Tha Alkaholics, Xhibit, Loot Pack, Jungle Brothers, Masta Ace, and Talib Kweli… just to name a few. In 1994, Wisdom, formerly known as Winnie B, became the resident DJ at Club Deco up until it’s closing in 1997. During this time, he also deejayed weekly at Nickie’s BBQ, Bahia, Kate Obrien’s, Elbo Room, and Blues. For the past five years, he has been asked to spin at parties and weddings and many annual events including Holloween at the Civic Center, Carnaval, UCSF’s Black and White Gala, and Bulletproof’s Boat party. Wisdom has also been one of the main three deejays for five CDs put out by NC Clothing, an up and coming clothing company. Wisdom went on to deejay a number of other clubs well known to San Francisco. They include: Deco, Blondie’s, Elbo Room, The Top, Nightbreak, DNA Lounge, Kate O’Brien’s, Fillmore West, The Beer Cellar, Transmission Theatre, VSF, 1015 Folsom, The Sound Factory, Nickie’s BBQ, Cat’s Alley, Miss Pearl’s Jam House, Blues, Justice League, Up and Down, 330 Ritch, Club 181, 26 Mix, Rico’s Loft, Storyville, 550 Barneveld, and Rassela’s.
