In his 20-year career, San Francisco producer/DJ SHOCKMAN (a.k.a. Ron Nachmann) has been a stalwart supporter and curator of dub and rhythm culture. In 2003, he collaborated with DJ Sep of Dub Mission to produce the compilation Babylon is Ours: the USA in Dub, an unprecedented 12-track survey of the American dub scene which was released on the SelectCuts label (http://www.dubmissionsf.com/theusaindub.html). Shockman has also released tracks with Future Primitive Sound and Stellar Trax Sound System, and been featured on the Murther EP with Jackie's Army (Voltage/2004), the 2009 Voltage compilation, Dub For The Dancefloor: Voltage Remixed and Unreleased, and "Kalimba Rock" with Dub I.D. on the Stateside Steppas compilation, Space Audio. His 2011 release, Shock The Sound , included remixes by Canadian producers Dubmatix and Earlyw~rm. As a DJ, Shockmann has spun and shared the stage with the likes of Ohio Players, War, Bobby Hutcherson, Andrew Weatherall, Thievery Corporation, Tino Corp, Fila Brazilia, Gotan Project, Zion Train, Systemwide, Dr. Israel, DJ Krush, DJ Z-Trip and many more.
