Excerpt from the tribute to D'Angelo and Roberta Flack at the 2026 Grammys. An 11-minute medley that began with “Nothing Even Matters,” continued with “Brown Sugar,” and featured Rafael Saadiq and Anthony Hamilton performing “Lady.” Leon Tomás performed “Devil’s Pie,” Anthony Hamilton stayed on to sing “Another Life,” his partner Bilal performed “Untitled (How Does It Feel),” and Jon Batiste took to the keyboards to play “Africa.” Then, Ms. Hill led another medley of the legendary Roberta Flack. Batiste stayed on to perform “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face,” Leon Bridges joined Alexia Jayy on stage to perform “Compared to What,” Lalah Hathaway and October London played “The Closer I Get to You,” and Juan Leyenda and Chaka Khan performed “Where Is the Love.” Then, Lauryn finished with “Feel Like Makin’ Love” and, of course, had to do “Killing Me Softly With His Song” with her partner Wyclef Jean, surprising everyone when she started walking onto the stage with an electric guitar to perform her version of the classic track from her Grammy-winning album.
