Slick Rick’s new album features a team-up with fellow rap titan Nas, on the track “Documents.” The U.K.-born emcee dropped Victory today (June 13)--which marks his return to album-making after a 25-plus year hiatus. One of Def Jam’s first signees, Rick’s new release comes courtesy of a deal with Mass Appeal. Mostly recording Victory in London, the legendary artist announced the project back in May with Nas and collaborator Idris Elba sharing in the moment.
“Slick Rick and I have a long history of working together so it was great to get back in the studio with him to create this new record,” shared Nas in a statement announcing the project. “Working with Slick Rick… back home in the U.K., and then offering the world of hip-hop something amazing has been a blessing. It’s literally a gift!” Elba said in a press release.
I come in peace...
