- About The Shepeople’s
The Shepeople’s collective includes women from all walks of life, working together to promote the visibility of women artists and their work. Based in Oakland, California, Shepeople’s is a multicultural, multigenerational collective organized to nurture and empower fledgling and professional artists. The Shepeople’s is a destination for women artists seeking a home to share their work, get feedback, and reclaim their artistic being. We are singers, songwriters, dancers, musicians, actors, visual artists, and poets. We believe that by creating a strong social network and performance venue for women artists, we can improve opportunities for women working in the arts. To that end, we help our participants learn important new skills, build their leadership capacity, and achieve financial independence. We host our monthly showcase in Oakland, California every third Friday of the month.
