BIO:::SMOKY Born and raised in E. Oakland, DJ SMOKY is a product of the mid '80's breakdance era, when records where the natural medium of music maneuvering. Growing up with influences from RUN DMC & TOO $HORT to STEEL PULSE & SIZZLA, the musical recipe was born. Specializing in reggae and hip-hop DJ SMOKY focuses on the Bay Area as the place to play. DJ SMOKY has played all over n. america on the summer and winter VANS tour for over 10 years, MOUNTAIN DEW TOUR, X GAMES, MAMMOTH WCI contest, GRAVITY GAMES, BURTON US OPEN, as well as playing for the 2002 WINTER OLYMPIC HALF-PIPE contest in Park City, Utah. SMOKY has backed the likes of: KRS-1/DEAD PREZ/TALIB KWELI/WU-TANG/TOO SHORT/CUTTY RANKS/JR. REID/SHINEHEAD/ROCKER-T/HIEROGLYPHICS/GANGSTARR, and works with all the boss DJ's in the Bay.Today, you can find him at his KING OF KINGS REGGAE SUNDAYS night club in Berkeley at the Shattuck Down Low Lounge, the premier weekly reggae/dancehall party in the Bay since April 20, 2002. So come down to Berkeley on a sunday night & skank to the sounds of the best reggae / dancehall DJ's in the Bay Area.
