Relationship Status:
It's Complicated
Bio:
A common face in the San Francisco Bay Area and much appreciated in the scene, he’s an artist on the rise from our home of the SFC to the world. He goes by the name of Lancelot or Larry Brite. Since his first recorded track with Dr. Ford, “Is That A Fact” in 2001, to hosting events in the vicinity, to spitting rhymes in the studio, Mr. Larry Brite has proven to have a stead fast focused grip on the right track.
Speaking of the right track, his first radio play was in April ’06, a mixtape track, “Chezin La Brite” that aired on Live 105. His mixtapes were already being circulated at the time. In 2002, Lancelot released Hears What’s Left, which delved 400 copies. In 2005, he released Regal Begal, a mixtape that was acknowledged on www.onthehype.com chosen for all around music and spits. In 2007, Mulatto was released. Able to be grabbed on Larry Brite’s artist site, www.myspace.com/larrybrite, the mixtape album hit over 1000 downloads and 500 hard copies. Featuring artists such as Comma D, Ally of Live 105, Cosimote, Mike Pre, and DCM, Larry Brite was soon to please the public ear with one more mixtape to follow. It was called “Grindhouse” and was released one year later. Produced by Goonskwad and Stunna Vision, it stepped up one level and dared to feature the hard hitters such as: Sana G of KMEL, Pete Mar of Live 105, Beat Knoxx from the Infamous DJs, REL and Beats Me from Distortion 2 Static, and Boyowski from the Hypnotic Show.
An avid promoter for TrueSkool going on strong since 2008, previous to that, he did promotions for Distortion 2 Static from 2006-2007. If you’re not at one of Larry Brite’s events you’ll see him still at the doors, to the sides, through the crowd, and to your hand goes a flyer, compliments of True Skool to get you going on your way to the next suggested event in the future. This year, watch Larry Brite and have fun with future events hosted by him throughout the SFC and Oakland, and furthering the Bay Area guerilla marketing through True Skool. Watch out for Lancelot’s full-length album featuring Boot Riley and Zion I to be dropped in your ears in 2010.
