Profile Information

Bio:
Eliquate (founded initially by MC Elliot Wright) has been peiced together meticulously over the past 5 years to become the live experience it is today.
All the current members of Eliquate have been practicing independently since highschool, however it wasnt until late 2008 that MC Elliot Wright and Producer Jamie Schnetzler met and began collaborating. Quite slowly I might add.
Wright found an interest in writing and MC'ing towards the end of high school and began fevershly recording as much as possible over mostly self-produced garage band tracks.
Schnetzler started off playing guitar for a local band High Society which gained some noteriety opening for established locals such as Dub congress and the Expendables.
By spring 2009 Eliquate (then Jamie and Elliot) was being offered shows, but the ipod just wasnt cutting it as back-up. Something was missing.
Shortly after the two began having sit-ins for drums, bass, and dj, but it wasnt until late, 2009 that a consitant backing band was committed to performing and writing.
With the addition of Cosmo Stevens (founder of Oak Park) on bass and Dan Wells (inventor of DMT) on Drums. However in January 2010, Justin Mosley (keys) was added to the mix, enabling the band to get outside of any one specific genera and move in more creative directions. Justin is a profound innate musician who has brought the group to the next level.
In 2009, Wright traveled to Philadelphia to compete in the National Slam Poetry Contest, earning a highly respectable 5th place.. Having performed with Del, Souls of Mischief, and members of the Living Legends, Zion-I, Nickatina, and Murs, Eliqute brings a flavorful new taste to hip hop table. Drawing inspiration from life, beauty, pain, and experience, Eliquate's sound is live and real. Their performance is exorbitantly energetic and tangible, while their style is finessed. To see Eliqute live is to experience what the hip hop can once again be: Live, Tight, and Passionate. .. (read less)
