The world famous Reggae On The River is happening once again on the Southern Humboldt/Northern Mendocino County line the first weekend of August. A partnership between the Mateel Community Center and Laytonville-based Leo Ahern of Hot Milk Productions has made the return possible.
“We’ve been trying to get this event back up off the ground for awhile now,” said Mateel board member and original production staff member John Bruno. “We’re so glad it’s finally happening!”
“Have you seen the lineup?” exclaimed musician Ian Stinson of TropiCali Crew who is playing Friday afternoon at the festival. Stinson lives on the Mendocino Coast and has played at Reggae on the River multiple times in bands over the years. “It’s clearly a nod to the local players and sounds that have been holding this festival down for years.”
