Event Description

THIS SUNDAY:
DUB MISSION Halloween presents
THE SPIT BROTHERS live! (Dubs Alive Records)
Featuring Bakir and Dubsworth
plus DJ SEP and MANEESH the TWISTER (Surya Dub)
at Elbo Room - 647 Valencia Street - SF - Club is 21+ - Club info: 415 552 7788
9 pm to 2 am - $7 - www.dubmissionsf.com

Bakir and Dubsworth came together in 2006 with their common backgrounds in instrumental performance and music production to form the San Francisco based sound system band, The Spit Brothers. The group incorporates elements of dub, bass music, afro-beat, jazz, and electronica into their repertoire. Their live set is a combination of improvised and sequenced moments created through loop manipulation and re-arrangement, and dub fading. Both producers perform on several instruments including trumpet, bass, guitar, organ, synthesizer, and melodica. They have performed alongside Jazzsteppa, KJ Sawka, and Kush Arora and have supported acts like Caspa and Rusko, Eskmo, Joe Nice, RSD, Matty G, DZ, DJG, and DJunya. They have releases out on Full Melt Records, Record Label Records, and their own label, Dubs Alive. http://www.myspace.com/thespitbrothers
