Event Description

L.O.W. SF & Go BANG! present the next chapter San Francisco's DISCO scene!

Beginning Thursday September 3, 2009 & every FIRST Thursday at The Triple Crown:
Studio S.F.
!!!

This party brings together DJs & Live Performances that bridge all eras & styles of Disco. From authentic Underground 70's/80's Disco to current performers keeping the Disco vibe alive & pushing it forward into the future!

For the PREMIERE party Thursday, September 3, we are starting off with the big guns! Performers include:

- Ken Vulsion (HONEYSOUNDSYSTEM) DJ Set!
As a founding member of San Francisco's premiere Heavy Disco Dance collective - HONEYSOUNDSYSTEM - Ken & the rest of the crew (Jason Kendig, Robot Hustle, Peeplay, Josh Cheon) have recently celebrated the 2nd Anniversary of their amazing, always-exciting FREE Sunday Paradise Loft Party. They are the "sister" party of London's Horsemeat Disco crew, Ken recently was asked to do a mix for Tim Sweeny's oh-so-hot Beats In Space radio show (http://www.beatsinspace.net/playlists/470) and Ken has been pivotal in unearthing previously-unreleased Patrick Cowley tapes - with the "Catholic" EP being the first in Stefan Goldmann and Finn Johannsen's Prototypes series on Macro Label. Ken always delivers heavy, bassy Disco beats, and he is NOT to be missed!

- White Girl Lust (Solid Bump Records) DJ Set!
These cats - Clayton Meador & Eric Kozack - have been releasing psychedelic, filter-heavy Disco singles for the past couple of years, which you have heard in many a tastemaker DJ's set. Last month Solid Bump launched their attack on Summer with a label showcase at Vessel’s Infatuation. Over 350 people came out to celebrate the release of their new EP Back and Forth. This set the tone for a summer in which they plan to release 6 EPs. As the party progresses we hope to get other Solid Bump artists into Studio SF, but don’t miss this chance to see these DJs. They are amazing DJs, and you will not be able to resist getting down & dirty!

-Sergio (Go BANG!) DJ Set!
Having been a Bay Area staple, DJing on KALX 90.7 FM in Berkeley since 1997, Sergio presents the spectrum of dance music - disco, house, funk, jazz, boogie - in particular preserving & paying respect to the vibe of The Loft and Paradise Garage, with inspiration from legendary Chicago DJ & producer Derrick Carter’s style & Larry Levan's (and similar DJs of his era) way of "speaking to the dancer." In 2005, Sergio was chosen as the New Times (SF Weekly/East Bay Express) "DJ Breakthrough" and in 2006 Sergio was awarded the the title of the SF Weekly’s 2006 Music Awards "Best DJ." He currently holds a residency in the Castro's legendary Cafe Flore, and is a proud member of the much-loved Go BANG! monthly Atomic Dancefloor Disco Action party 4th Saturdays!
