PeliKULa! Pin@y FIlm Series: Philippine Animated Shorts. Form and function work in concert in these animated shorts as young talents twist up the past and present Philippines. In Ang Paglikha, a fresh use of shadows complement the folk stories of Bukidnon. In similar interplay between light and dark rendered in 3D computer animation, Kachatore speeds through the fantastic. Morphing the body politic, Patik takes skin tattoos through time with galleons across the sea. The animation directors of Lupang Hinirang and Clownes question the bleakness and austerity of a society gone astray, placing their hopes in deviants and love. An array of styles, this program holds a country at the core. Screening will be followed by a Q&A panel with Filipino American animators and visual artists, including Dino Ignacio of Electronic Arts, Anthony Ermio of Lucasfilm Animation, and more!

ABOUT PeliKULa! Pin@y Film Series: The PeliKULa! Pin@y Film Series is a monthly program showcasing contemporary Pilipino cinema in efforts to bring visibility of new or unseen works to growing audiences.
