The comedian joined his Chappelle’s Show co-star on the latest episode of The Joe Rogan Experience.
Dave Chappelle made a rare appearance on the latest episode of The Joe Rogan Experience.
Strolling into the bunker around the 2:20:00 mark during the host’s interview with friend and Chappelle’s Show co-star, Donnell Rawlings, the comedian was a predictably candid (and eventually very high) guest. Following a bit of debriefing on their chat and some wildly stoned rambling, the group pivoted to current affairs; namely, the country’s response to the pandemic, the transition to a Biden presidency, and the need to keep trying to plan and adapt in uncertain times.
“You’ve never seen something as large as the American economy stop and then start back up. But it’s a global phenomenon. It’s not like it’s just happening to us. We’re just handling it terribly,” Chappelle said. They go on to discuss the country’s contempt of the elderly and Trump’s absurd and hilarious need to distinguish himself from them. “I like when Trump calls the elderly ‘the elderly’ as if that somehow doesn’t apply to him,” Chappelle jabs. The conversation caps with how likely any of them are to take a COVID-19 vaccine when it becomes available (all claim they’ll be on-board if it’s deemed safe by credible officials.) Throughout the episode, Chappelle seems to be setting up another chat with Rogan, though they never make anything official.
