Dave Chappelle recently shared another endorsement of 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang at a show in Columbia, South Carolina.
At the end of a standup routine, Wednesday night Chappelle shared that Yang “has got some (expletive) fantastic ideas,” reports the Post and Courier. This was directly speaking to Yang’s proposal that each American should receive $1,000 every month, this is referred to as the “Freedom Dividend.”
Ahead of the show, Chappelle visited Yang’s campaign headquarters in South Carolina to meet with supporters and also make a few phone calls to voters. During one phone call with a voter, he said, “I’m a world-famous comedian.” This strategically took place one month out from SC’s Democratic presidential primary on February 29. Chapelle had two more shows this week which were intended to benefit Yang, proceeds reportedly are going to his campaign.
