Was Native Tongues An Official Collective? De La Soul Weighs In

In this VladTV exclusive, legendary Hip Hop group De La Soul speaks on their relationship with the other Native Tongue members and how the collective came to be.

Trugoy the Dove says the group came together after members of the Jungle Brothers and A Tribe Called Quest from just a hand out session. Their friendship later helped create the hit single, "Buddy" the group's only single. While they grew apart over the years, Dove and Posdnuos agree that all of the Native Tongue members are back on good terms.

The rappers speak on how the organic formation of the the group was easy for fans to appreciate. While the collective's catalog is limited to a few songs and collaborations, the group says time didn't permit them to put more energy into the collective.

The group also speaks on what could've been with the Native Tongues; from tours, merchandise and even a Broadway play.
