The making of Invisibl Skratch Piklz’s new album The 13th Floor by Redbull Music

Game-changing scratch DJ crew Insivibl Skratch Piklz were coaxed into performing at last year's Red Bull Thre3style World Finals in Baku and that appearance appears to have given the collective a jump-start. The group – now a trio of DJ Qbert, D-Styles and Shorkut – recorded their first new album in 20-plus years recently at Red Bull Studios Tokyo and they're set to appear as special guests at this year's Red Bull Thre3style World Finals in Tokyo on September 20.

The Filipino-American turntablists, still led by original member and three-time DMC World Champion Qbert, were right in the thick of it back in the early days of hip-hop turntablism, facing off against the X-Men and Beat Junkies. They've also featured Mix Master Mike, DJ Apollo and A-Trak over the years.

We followed Qbert, D-Styles and Shortkut into the studio to film the making of their long-awaited album and talk about the history of scratching, DJ battles and how the turntablism landscape has changed in the 30 years they've been at the decks.
