Bio:
"Kalae supplies fun, lyricism, ideas and her genuine character which automatically clues her listeners in to feeling good about themselves." -Divino DeNegro (Beyond Race Magazine)

Love child of Jimi Hendrix and Lauryn Hill, emcee/singer/songwriter and self proclaimed "vandal," Kalae "All Day" is swiftly making an impression in the underground Hip Hop scene. At the ripe age of 21, the Harlem native has done over 30 shows at popular city venues, such as Crash Mansion, Sputnik, The Knitting Factory, Public Assembly, Highline Ballroom, SouthPaw and Ashford and Simpsons Sugar Bar, and has opened up for rappers Jean Grae and Talib Kweli (Idle Warship) all since the summer of 2008. At an arresting 5'10 (6'' with her afro) Kalae brings the energy and presence of a vet to her stage show and leaves the crowd in awe and begging for more. Kalae released her first recorded project executively produced by chart topping artist Princess Superstar, entitled "AFROMATIKNEOHIPPIEROCK*SOLEMUSIK" March 17th 2010 and the music video for the first single, "O.G.LYRIKALBOOKBAGGER" feat. Homeboy Sandman, was featured on many popular blogs including Okayplayer, I Love Pwnage and Kevin Nottingham.

"When people used to ask me what type of music i make, I initially jumped into defense mode; 'why are you trynna box me in? I supercede genres..' then i sorta took a step back and thought this person is trying to relate themselves to my music and we do that through labels.. So instead of trying to fit myself or push myself into someone elses market, like i would say 'im neo-soul' or 'hip hop' I eventually came up with my own genre, Afromatic-neo hippie-rockstar-soul music.."

On "AFROMATIKNEOHIPPIEROCK*SOLEMUSIC" there is a wide range of musical influences spanning from Soul to Electronic to Hip Hop and playfully erases the line between mainstream and underground and has been compared to the likes of Mos Def's second project by Beyond Race Magazine; "The multi-eclectic approach of Kalae's album raises a similar question as Mos Def's sophomore solo, which challenges listeners' definition of what hip-hop is, by including sounds from some of hip-hop's mother genres." It includes guest appearances by Homeboy Sandman, Mic Wilson (the rapper formerly known as Prezzure) and Rebel Starr and can be purchased at www.Kalaeallday.Bandcamp.com. Kalae also won Brooklyn Bodegas All Female "Show and Prove" showcase, CMJ Edition, on Oct.20th 2009 at Public Assembly and was called "One of the most notable female MCs in the New York circuit" by Above Ground Magazine. Spotlight on Sapphira Cristál

“After Hours” is a fierce, high-fashion house anthem that drips with attitude, seduction, and runway energy. Opening with a spoken-word moment in a commanding deep voice reminiscent of Kevin Aviance or Right Said Fred, the track transforms into a dancefloor sermon of power and pleasure. With thumping beats, sultry vocals, and lines that shimmer with confidence (Steppin’ out in a 613 ... my look so puss, so clean’), Sapphira Cristál delivers a declaration of glamour and groove. Already building…See More
