During the 2020 Oscars, Eminem made a surprise appearance and performed “Lose Yourself,” his 2002 hit song that appeared in his film 8 Mile from that same year. The performance came 17 years after “Lose Yourself’ won the award for best original song in 2003, which the Detroit rapper wasn’t present for.
And even though the choice to have Em perform this 18-year-old song at the Oscars baffled many viewers, at least it spawned a number of amusing audience reactions, including Martin Scorsese, Idina Menzel, Billie Eilish, and Zazie Beetz.

Some Hollywood heavyweights didn’t appear too impressed by Eminem’s surprise #Oscars performance. Others were really digging it.
