Reggae legend Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley was the latest act to perform on NPR’s popular Tiny Desk series.
While there, Marley performed three songs from his last album, the inspiring Stony Hill LP (which dropped in 2017.) Backed by a six-person band, he performed mellowed renditions of “Slave Mill,” the Slick Rick-inspired “So a Child May Follow,” and “Speak Life” — the biggest hit from the album.
Last year, Marley told us that his musical mission was “to spread upliftment, to spread love, and to spread the message of Rastafari, the message of God.” This performance is a testament to that. Check it out below.
