As they kicked off their Black Music Month celebration, NPR Music had the pleasure of inviting the legendary Charlie Wilson to rock their Tiny Desk Concert stage. And, boy, did he ever.
With a career spanning decades, Charlie has constantly reinvented himself and has become an invaluable talent in hip hop music and culture. That influence is on full display during his performances of “Charlie, Last Name Wilson,” “Computer Love,” “There Goes My Baby,” “I’m Blessed,” “Yearning For Your Love,” “Sweet Yamz,” and “Outstanding.” While I doubt the rest of my week will be this smooth, this may help ease that sting a bit.
