Washington post article reads: "John Legend's Oscar speech on incarceration got it (mostly) right" and confirms that "the raw numbers check out." It showed that 872,924 slaves were male 526,000 black men were incarcerated and about 1,114,521 black men were on probation or parole in 2013." But then the author Hunter Schwarz goes on to say "If you were to compare percentages instead, the percentage of black men and women in slavery in 1850 is much higher" and points to population increase as the reason.
Actually, since we don't have slavery today, it shouldn't even be close Einstein.
