June 16, 2023 would have marked Tupac Shakur‘s 52nd birthday, had he not tragically passed away in 1996. However, despite his brief time on this planet — and even briefer time as an entertainer — his influence has inspired generations of musicians over the years.
Bittersweetly, ‘Pac was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this week (June 7), following fellow hip hop icons Nipsey Hussle and Missy Elliott in 2022. YG, actor and comedian Mike Epps, close Naughty by Nature’s Treach (a close friend of Pac), and radio personality Big Boy were among those in attendance.
Tupac’s sister, Sekyiwa Shakur, offered some words on behalf of the family and estate.”Today, we’re not just honoring a star in the ground,” she said during her speech. “But we’re honoring the work and the passion that he’s put into making his dreams come true.”
