Private text messages between Kanye and the comedian went public on Sunday.
Tensions are high as ever between Kanye West, Pete Davidson, and presumably, their respective camps.
Over the weekend, the feud, which has been at least visually represented by a pair of recent videos for West and The Game’s new single “Easy,” once again escalated with the publishing of texts between Davidson and the rapper.
Captioned as “A message from Pete” by the comedian’s writing partner, David Sirus (who has since set his account to private,) screenshots of Davidson and West’s messages were shared in an Instagram post. In the exchange, Davidson, who is currently saddled up with post-divorce Kim Kardashian, defends West’s ex and demands respect for her new relationship. “Yo it’s Skete. Can you please take a second and calm down. It’s 8am and it don’t gotta be like this. Kim is literally the best mother I’ve ever met. What she does for those kids is amazing and you are so [fucking] lucky that she’s your kids mom,” Davidson writes. The comedian goes on to tell West to “grow the fuck up” and later responds to the rapper with a shirtless selfie claiming to be in bed with Kardashian. At one point, Davidson’s tone flips from confrontational to compassionate, offering to meet with West in-person to resolve their issues and help him address his mental health battles. “I struggle with mental stuff too. It’s not an easy journey. You don’t have to feel this way anymore. There’s no shame in having a little help,” Davidson wrote, going to claim he’d prevented Saturday Night Live and stand-up comedians from cutting jokes at the rapper’s expense.
