Born Devante Dennis in Torrance, California, and raised in Compton, the west coast rapper is making waves in hip-hop. With a uniquely crafted sound of his own, the dedicated father with a “gonna make it happen” attitude is calling shots and taking names.

Using the influence of his city, a place that some of the greatest rappers in history call home, gangsta rap played a major role in shaping his views of the world around him. Embracing Los Angeles’ urban culture, Teeezy’s passion for the music game goes back to his childhood when he started writing rhymes at the age of 5. A creative with a dope authentic West Coast style, he dropped his first professional project, “TheFknBlueDevil,” in 2018. “I can’t compare myself to nobody in my industry… you just have to hear my music to understand where I’m coming from.”

A hard worker with a name and a purpose, Teeezy makes music that speaks to the beat of his heart, connecting with fans on a real authentic level while delivering music that sets the mood. Music that defines a generation. “I built my own sound and stood on it. I promise I've been working hard for it.”

Teezy has done collaborations with Mozzy, Savii 3rd, Gudda Mack, DaBully, and has no plans of slowing down anytime soon. A student of history and a fan of the great outdoors, the rapper loves and appreciates his fans, making music that becomes the soundtrack to their lives; enduring, timeless. “I want people to be able to play my music 20 years from now and it still hit them like I newly released it. I want my kids to be able to play my music when they are my age and still be proud of the dent I left on hip-hop.”

Determined to leave a mark that speaks to the life he lived, Teeezy is blazing a path with his music on his terms, one hit at a time.

Prentice Grant: From Vauxhall to Legacy — The Rise of an Independent Hip-Hop Force

The first time Prentice Grant realized music could change his life, he was just a kid in Vauxhall, New Jersey, staring at the TV.
