Marvin Gaye‘s lost 1972 album You’re the Man has been released by Motown Records, days before what would have been his 80th birthday (April 2).
Recorded between studios in Detroit and Los Angeles, the LP features alternate mixes of Gaye’s formerly released tracks, such as “The World Is Rated” and “Where Are We Going?” It also includes a number of remixes by producer Salaam Remi, who mixed the album.
Many tracks on You’re the Man were released sporadically over the past few decades, but the 17-track project rallies them all into one cohesive album. The vinyl print of the album will include four sides and is on-sale now.
