More than two years after his last LP release, Action Bronson has returned with his fourth studio album Blue Chips 7000.
The 13-track project was officially announced back in June during the rapper’s interview with Zane Lowe; however, he had teased the album for well over a year under the title Blue Chips 7, suggesting it would be the third installment of his Blue Chips mixtape series with Party Supplies. Bronson later explained he had changed to the title’s numeral to 7000 to reflect its elevated sound.
“It’s Blue Chips 7000 because It was a lot of just taking things off the internet and just rapping on it in the old Blue Chips, you know? It’s still that, but it sounds bigger. It just sounds better,” he recently told Complex. “[…] The ‘7000’ is just because it’s beyond. It’s not part three, it’s part 7000.”
The album includes guest appearances by Rick Ross (“9-24-7000”), Big Body Bes (“TANK” and “Durag Vs. Headband”), and Meyhem Lauren (“Hot Pepper”), and production by Party Supplies and Harry Fraud.
