Portland’s very own Splash Downey is back with another vibrant hit song “why u no stay?”. The versatility is made clear once again, with the rhythmic harmonious vocals and sustained melodic production by Gold Beam, the alias of Nathan Katz. From the first time we heard Splash Downey, with his “Tsunami” single back in 2019, the growth has been incredible to witness.

This single’s on a whole new level, the smooth lyrics match perfectly with the tone choice. The production is extremely even and the drops highlight the song entirely. Both Splash Downey and Gold Beam represent the Pacific Northwest, a place with a ton of potential for artists to blow up. Portland, Oregon has growing Hip-Hop and Indie scenes with tons of talent emerging.

It is rare these days in an era with so many musical options that an artist gets better with every song. Splash Downey stands out as an artist that is only going to gain more traction from here. This single “why you no stay?” is only the start for the young talent. Go stream + share the song on all streaming platforms, and give Splash Downey a follow on Instagram to keep up with all things Splash.
