New Live Stream Tests Your Hip Hop Knowledge on "Who Sampled?"

Every Sunday at 12pm PST, Bay Area DJs Ren the Vinyl Archaeologist (True Skool) and DJ Platurn of the Oakland Faders have been hosting a Hip Hop Trivia game named, "Who Sampled?". Music fans tune in and to guess "who sampled" select tunes and the songs they were sampled in.

It's a well known fact that hip hop music is derived from sampling mostly funk, soul, jazz, and any source that's got a funky break.  Crate diggers Ren the Vinyl Archaeologist and DJ Platurn bust out their collections to see if people can recognize the sample from classic hip hop records.  Whoever guesses the name of the artist and the song it was sampled in wins a point. For example, if they play Chic's "Good Times", the answer would be Sugar Hill Gang "Rapper's Delight."  They play a total of 20 tracks for the hour show and whoever has the most points wins.  The prizes range from CDs, stickers and cocktails from sponsor Hello Stranger Bar, located in downtown Oakland.  Anyone is welcome to play!

To play, participants are asked to create a twitch.tv account and to follow twitch.tv/trueskool.  The answers are submitted through the chat!

The live stream is available at True Skool's new hip hop streaming platform TrueSkoolTV.com, which serves as hip hop one-stop shop, complete with music video channels, interviews, music documentaries, DJ live streams, movies, comedy, politics and more!

Tune in at TrueSkoolTV.com/whosampled every Sunday at 12pm PST
