The Lost Boyz were one of New York hip hop’s most unheralded groups. The four-man troupe of Mr. Cheeks, DJ Spigg Nice, Pretty Lou and the late Freaky Tah were responsible for some of the city’s bangers like “Jeeps, Lex Coups, Bimaz & Benz,” “Lifestyles of the Rich & Shameless,” “Me & My Crazy World” and “Renee” among others.
Now, Cheeks alongside Keith Murray have released a sequel to the 1996 single “Music Makes Me High.” While I’m usually very wary about “sequel” songs, I actually enjoyed this track quite a bit.
