Macklemore announces Free Palestine tour in wake of Ed Sheeran controversy
Macklemore is launching a “Free Palestine Tour” after being dropped from Ed Sheeran’s tour, saying: “So, as you all know, my schedule freed up a bit.”
The rapper will be joined by “friends,” who will be announced at a later date, at three concerts in Dublin on October 26, Paris on October 29, and London on October 30. All proceeds from the shows will go to organizations supporting Palestinians.
“If these last couple of weeks have shown us anything, it’s that something has shifted over the last three years,” Macklemore said in the announcement. “There has been a collective awakening around Palestinian liberation, the power of billionaires that try to censor that call, and what we expect from artists right now.”
