Drew Flamethrower was born July 7, 1988 in Houston, TX. Growing up, he sang in his school and church choir while learning how to play several instruments. These pastimes would mold his love for performing and ear for music.

In the 7th grade, Drew penned his first lyric. Despite being ridiculed by his classmates and discouraged by his teacher for taking interest in hip-hop, Flamethrower continued to write and perfect his penmanship. He recorded his first song in the 10th grade on a friend’s (Chuka - A$E) computer after asking his sister to sneak him to the studio without his mother knowing. She disapproved of his love for hip-hop and the amount of time he spent writing, so Drew got a ride to “the mall" one day from his sis and ended up with a mixtape. A$E was Drew's first gateway to realizing his music dream. He not only allowed Drew to record but also provided beats for Flamethrower to spit on. After this adventure, he continued to write rhymes everyday with the hopes of performing in front of sold out arenas.

Flamethrower was involved in other extracurricular activities outside of music. He excelled at tennis in the USTA Texas Super-Championship junior division and traveled very often to compete in tournaments . After graduating as the valedictorian of Evan E. Worthing High School in 2006, Drew earned the Gates Millennium Scholarship and went on to study Business Administration/Management at Florida A&M University. As a Rattler, Flamethrower played for FAMU’s Men’s Tennis Team and contributed to 4 consecutive HBCU National Championships.

In 2009, while still in college, Flamethrower began experimenting with digital sound and composing music. The better he became, the more time he spent at his craft learning the tools of the trade and studying the science. He would go on to eventually make beats for himself and other artists in his cypher. His greatest evolution took place when he began fusing the drums of different cultures and sounds from around the world with nature and the spacious synths of the cosmos. Flamethrower's goal is to make hot music and never be put into a box, categorized within a single genre of music.

What Will J.T. Hiskey Perform Opening for Blueface? Here’s Our Prediction

Expect “100 Grand” to shake the room, newer records from The Summer Tape 2 to show up, and maybe a few unreleased cuts designed specifically for these Blueface crowds. Hiskey’s sets tend to move fast and hit hard, balancing party records with rawer street-leaning material. If past shows are a clue, this won’t be a low-key opener.See More
