1992 Dr. Dre classic The Chronic has made a return to major digital streaming services. On Wednesday (February 1), Dre’s first LP was re-released by its original distributor, Interscope Records, accompanied by an exclusive merch collection. The album was temporarily removed from streaming after Snoop Dogg acquired Death Row Records in early 2022, in which Snoop’s landmark 1993 debut Doggystyle was also removed.
“I am thrilled to bring the Chronic home to its original distribution partner, Interscope Records,” Dr. Dre said in a press statement, per Variety. Working alongside my longtime colleagues, Steve Berman and John Janick, to re-release the album and make it available to fans all over the world is a full circle moment for me.”
