The verdict in Sean “Diddy” Combs' sex crimes trial has been announced. On Wednesday morning, legal reporter Meghann Cuniff reported that a jury found Diddy guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, but not guilty of sex trafficking and racketeering. The guilty verdict is tethered to the less serious charge.
According to Cuniff, “Jurors convicting for transportation but not trafficking means they convicted based on the fact that transportation for commercial sex is illegal even if everyone ‘enthusiastically participates’ as AUSA Christy Slavik said in closing argument.”
The music mogul was arrested back in September 2024 on federal charges, and his trial officially began back in May. According to CNN, the jurors reached verdicts late Tuesday afternoon on the following charges: two sex trafficking counts, and two additional counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. The jurors could not come to a consensus on the most serious racketeering conspiracy charge and were instructed by US District Judge Arun Subramanian to continue deliberations. The jury was then dismissed for the day, and asked to resume their deliberations on Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. EST.
