After attacking Dave Chappelle during Netflix Is A Joke: The Festival on May 3rd, Isaiah Lee has opened up about why he tackled the comedian.
Isaiah Lee is still in the hot seat. After tackling Dave Chappelle on-stage at the Hollywood Bowl during Netflix Is A Joke: The Festival on May 3rd, Lee recently spoke to The New York Post about his purpose behind the attack, mentioning his frustration with Chappelle joking about the LGBTQIA+ community and homelessness.
“I identify as bisexual … and I wanted him to know what he said was triggering,” Lee said, adding, “I wanted him to know that next time, he should consider first running his material by people it could affect.”
Lee said that during Chappelle’s set, the comedian also joked about pedophilia, which triggered Lee who says he was sexually abused at 17-years-old while he was at the Department of Children and Family Services in Los Angeles. Having enough with Chappelle’s jokes, Lee ran on-stage and tackled Chappelle, to which security rushed him.
