Last week, Bay Area radio listeners were shocked to learn of Jesus "Chuy" Gomez's dismissal from KMEL after more than 20 years at the station.
Now, a group of his long-time friends and colleagues in the music scene are uniting to honor Gomez at a special free event on August 27 at Mighty in San Francisco. DJs slated to play include Apollo, Mr. E, Ivan, J Pro, Rob Reyes, Rolo, and former KMEL colleagues Big Von, Mind Motion, and Scotty Fox.
Gomez recently sat down to discuss his future plans with NBC Bay Area's Cheryl Hurd in an exclusive interview. He tells Hurd that he's already fielding new offers for work; in the meantime, you can still catch him hosting on the California Music Channel.
