C.L. Smooth was a guest on Sway In The Morning this week. The veteran MC/producer released two solo singles, “Too Cold” and “Just In Town” (embedded below) in 2019. While on the show, the buttery-voiced rapper discussed the standing of his relationship with Pete Rock. During the 1990s, Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth released two acclaimed albums as well as an EP. However, they parted ways after 1994’s The Main Ingredient, which celebrated its 25th-anniversary last month. Over the last quarter century, there have been reunion songs and tours. Plans in late 2016 for a third album following photographs in D.I.T.C.’s Bronx, New York studio never yielded new music for public consumption. However, both men persist in solo careers.
