On Saturday, Big L fans gathered at 140th and Malcolm X Blvd in Harlem for the street to be renamed “Lamont “Big L” Coleman Way.”
140th and Lenox Avenue has officially been renamed “Lamont “Big L” Coleman Way.” On Saturday (May 28), a renaming ceremony was held for the street, which honors the late Big L, who was killed at in 1999 when he was 24-years old. The street renaming also comes after a petition campaign from the creators behind Street Struck, an upcoming documentary about the rapper’s life.
